At Gifts Created by Nature, we thoughtfully choose every ingredient that goes into our soaps, body butters, lotions, balms, sprays, and other handcrafted body-care products. We believe you deserve to know what you’re putting on your skin and why each ingredient has a place in our formulas.

Butters

Shea Butter

A rich, nourishing plant butter that helps moisturize, soften, and condition dry-feeling skin.

Mango Butter

A smooth, lightweight butter that helps leave skin feeling soft and moisturized without a heavy or greasy finish.

Kokum Butter

A firm botanical butter that helps create a smooth, luxurious texture in our body butters while conditioning the skin.

Botanical Oils

Jojoba Oil

A lightweight oil with a silky feel that helps soften, smooth, and condition the skin.

Sunflower Oil

A gentle, lightweight oil naturally rich in fatty acids that helps nourish and moisturize the skin.

Coconut Oil

Used in select products for its conditioning qualities and in soap to help create a rich, cleansing lather.

Castor Oil

A rich, conditioning oil used in our formulas and in soap to help create a creamy, bubbly lather.

Rosehip Seed Oil

A botanical oil used in select skincare products to help nourish, soften, and condition the skin.

Abyssinian Oil

Abyssinian Oil

A lightweight botanical seed oil that helps soften and condition the skin while providing a smooth, silky feel without excessive greasiness.

MCT / Fractionated Coconut Oil

A lightweight, stable emollient that helps products glide smoothly and spread easily across the skin.

Soap Ingredients

Goat Milk

Used in select cold-process soaps to create a creamy, luxurious bar with a gentle-feeling lather.

Colloidal Oatmeal & Oats

Included in select soaps for their comforting skin feel and their ability to add a creamy quality to the bar.

Sea Moss

A botanical ingredient featured in select handcrafted soaps for its unique character and natural appeal.

Activated Charcoal

Activated charcoal is a finely processed form of carbon commonly used in skincare and soap for its distinctive dark color and clean, fresh feel. In select soaps, it helps create a rich, smooth-looking bar and may help lift away surface oils and everyday impurities during cleansing. Its gentle exfoliating character can leave skin feeling refreshed and polished without the need for harsh scrubbing.

Natural Clays

Clays such as kaolin are used in select formulas to enhance texture, appearance, and the smooth feel of the finished product.

Botanical & Aromatic Ingredients

Lavender

Lavender essential oil is distilled from the flowering tops of the lavender plant. It is valued for its soft, herbaceous floral aroma and is often used to create a calm, relaxing atmosphere. In our products, lavender essential oil adds a gentle botanical fragrance to soaps, body-care products, and aromatic blends.

Sweet Orange

Sweet orange essential oil is cold-pressed from the peel of sweet oranges. Its bright, cheerful citrus aroma brings a fresh, uplifting character to soaps and body-care products. Because citrus oils can be sensitive to light and air, products containing sweet orange essential oil should be stored properly and used as directed.

Tea Tree

Tea tree essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of the tea tree plant. It has a distinctive fresh, herbal, slightly medicinal aroma and is used in select products, including our Sea Moss soap, for its clean, invigorating character.

Frankincense

Frankincense essential oil is derived from the resin of Boswellia trees. It has a warm, resinous, earthy aroma with subtle citrus and woody notes. It is featured in select handcrafted blends for its grounding, traditional aromatic character.

Bergamot

Bergamot essential oil is commonly expressed from the peel of bergamot oranges. It has a fresh citrus aroma softened by gentle floral and slightly green notes, making it a popular ingredient in soaps and aromatic body-care products such as our Beer Soap. Some bergamot oils may increase sun sensitivity, so always follow the product label and avoid unnecessary sun exposure when applicable.

Rose

Rose water, rose absolute, and rose otto may be used in select products to add an elegant, naturally floral aroma. Rose otto is steam-distilled from rose petals, while rose absolute is extracted using a solvent process to preserve the flower’s rich fragrance. These rose ingredients contribute a soft, luxurious scent to select skincare and body-care formulas.

Essential oils are concentrated aromatic plant extracts used primarily for fragrance and sensory experience. Their scent can vary naturally depending on the plant source, harvest, extraction method, and storage conditions. We use essential oils thoughtfully and in appropriate amounts for the intended product.

Other Ingredients We Love

Vitamin E

An antioxidant used in oil-based formulas to help support the stability of the oils while contributing to a conditioned skin feel.

Arrowroot Powder

Used in body butter to help create a smoother, softer, less greasy finish on the skin.

Aloe

Used in select water-based skincare formulas for its soothing, refreshing, and hydrating skin feel.

Honey

Used in select formulas for its humectant properties and the soft, luxurious feel it brings to the skin.
